The unobtrusive
hearing instruments that are worn in the ear.
Aesthetically pleasing, they cover hearing loss from mild to
moderate. The smallest ITE models are called CIC
(Completely-in-Canal), they can be worn completely in the canal
and are therefore hardly visible.
ITE hearing aids are moulded to fit the wearers own ear and are
constructed by using lasers. This is done by taking an
impression of the ear using a form of dental silicone. The
impression is then scanned into a computer by the manufacturers
and the hearing aid is designed to give the most comfortable fit
and ensure placement of all the component parts.
In the ear hearing aids provide an alternative type of hearing
aid for those who prefer not to wear behind the ear hearing
aids. This is dependant on the nature of the hearing loss.
Full Shell
Full shell hearing aids are needed where a moderate to severe
hearing loss is present. They fill a larger part of the
ear.

Half Shell and Canal
Half shell hearing aids are available for a moderate hearing
loss. These are smaller then full shell hearing aids
taking up less space in the outer ear.

CIC (Completely-in-Canal)
Completely in the canal hearing aids are available for a mild to
moderate hearing loss. These hearing are the smallest
available hearing aids and are virtually unnoticeable.
These sit completely in the ear canal.
